Growing up We all have to go through this phase of our lives.
When we have to choose our own paths, make decisions and bear responsibilities.
When we start to see our friends and cousins of our same age start driving...
When we start to see that our leisure turns from excitement to experience...
When sitting down with a cup of starbucks beats walking around with one...
We will know that its time we step on this travelator of life called "Growing up"
1 year use to be 10 years when we were 12.
Now 10 years seem to be like a year when you are 21.
And thats the thing about growing up.
Things happen so fast, decisions have to made within seconds that before you could know the consequence, you are already 5 years past it.
Just about 8 years ago, I wrote a blog entry about my first....
My first experience on this...
My first taste of that...
My first sight of another thing...
Right now, it just seems like the past 8 years have just went past even without me knowing...
I have definitely grown so much in the past 8 years...in wisdom, in love, in acceptance, in understanding, in planning, in structures and in appreciating the architecture of life...but up till today, there's just a prayer of my heart daily...
God, will You continue to lead me in all that I do...

Wow! Went to Malaysia and it rocks! So many things happened there and we had so much fun! What a way to start a new year!
2 places you have to go eat when you go to KL.
1) Sakura
2) Soo Kee Mee
These 2 places...their food rocks!
More than anything this trip was the most "chiong" ever!
If you think that I am chiong, wait till you see the rest of the guys...
We went to Sunway Lagoon, watched a movie, shopped, ate 4 meals a day, went for foot reflex, went swimming, watched movies in the middle of the night together....I had never had such a packed holiday in my life!!
It was really funny...during this trip, Yong Hui and Chun kit went for their first fish spa....
So what happen was they were both given a small towel.
When both of them put their legs into the fish pond, it was so itchy for them that they kept whacking one another when the fishes were sucking their legs.
Yong Hui went to bite the towel that was given to him.
Later did he know that the cloth was used to clean his feet dry when he comes out!
:)
Then we went to Sunway Lagoon.
We saw this really really extremely big sized hairy guy. JO was saying that that is what Mac Donalds do to you....hahaha...
When you see them, you feel inspired and pushed on in life not to eat Macs anymore. But thats besides the point.
So we were all waiting to sit this dark hole slide that you were supposed to go through this totally covered tunnel on a float. But these 2 guys were so funny!
Guess what? When they came down the water slide, instead of coming down as a pair on a float, they both came down individually without sitting on any float of any sort!
Then you wait for 1 minute later, you see the float start sliding down....pfesh...*laughters*
But more then anything, I thank God for such a great group of friends in life! Really didnt feel like coming back yesterday as the trip was so short. Before you can feel for the trip, its over! Next year, we got to have a 4 day 3 night one....
Ok...got to go do follow up with Wayne Lim! Have a great reunion tonight!

i just spoke to john yesterday and he leads such an interesting life...
and i just realised i haven been blogging for such a long time.
2008 is over and HOGC has stepped into 2009.
we have entered into a new year, however our vision still stands...
our Ethos will never change, not now, not in the future.
it will not grow weak, only stronger.
God has been gracious to us and grew us so much.
whoever has been through with this church,
right from the humble beginning as a small house church...
all the way till hendersons,
and now a 1500 strong church in a dominant part of Singapore Post Centre.
how will our future be like?
the same God that grew us from 12 years ago,
will grow us even more now.
He is the same God we will worship forever.
i can never imagine how our future will be like...
i can only dream about it and have faith in God.
just like we were right from the start,
with little money,
with few people,
we could not even afford to buy a guitar..
and Pastors had to sell their apartment just to help finance the church.
but we dreamt.
we dreamt of a church...
made of glass walls...
a stage,
worship bands...
a thousand strong church,
just as we are now.
God has blessed us and indeed, He will bring us further than we are now.
Bigger than we are now...
He doesnt want us to settle for what we are now...
He has a Big destiny in store for us.
and we will GROW.
20,000.
30,000
100,000.
nothing is too difficult for our God.
He is the Almighty Most High,
the King of kings
and Lord of lords.
thank You Lord for always being so faithful
and always blessing us through the years...
You never left us.
thank You Lord for blessing us with Pastors,
that You have given us such fatherly and motherly Pastors who truely love us...
and all Glory will be to You.
amen=)
